Whale Stapler

By

Call me IshmaelIf you’re in the market for a “whale stapler,” and who hasn’t been there at some point, there’s one from Pottery Barn that might be a better option than Ari Glogower’s crude offering, if only because it actually looks like whale.

I came here to read about the watch scam and was very surprised to see the whale stapler here. I backed the Kickstarter whale stapler and I still think it’s better than the Pottery Barn alternative because it’s full-size and it actually does look like a whale (sperm whale)! There aren’t any whales with round heads and tiny tails, come on Pottery Barn! On the other hand, I did receive the Pottery Barn shark staple remover for Christmas and that is a fine product. Maybe this guy can make a more true-to-life shark staple remover, because mine really looks like a viper with a shark mask on.

I feel like the model could’ve at least looked a little more “finished.” The first thought that came to my mind, was a debate of whether this was created with a bond-o, or an epoxy.

      That’s a fair point.

T: The final product will be more finished, sleeker and svelter, as I explain on the kickstarter page. A rougher prototype was used for the promotional video. I agree that this guy looks a little like he had an unfortunate encounter with a boat motor.

I was deeply hurt to see the whale stapler on your site. The whale stapler is a fun, homemade product. I take a lot of time to make these for negligible financial recompense.

The whale stapler is not intended to look like something you can find from pottery barn. If verisimilitude in whale stapler appearance is your only criteria, I suggest you go capture a real beluga and train it to staple things for you.

Windowplant, thanks for your support. I can’t wait to send you your whale stapler!

      Dude, this is funny.
